Clyde joined the club in the early 1990s and was a strong presence at Sulhamstead & Ufton C.C. for many years thereafter. He was an outstanding wicketkeeper - in his own words, "the best wicketkeeper never to have played for the West Indies!" - and was a star player throughout the early years of the Berkshire Cricket League. He was also a fantastic batsman and could have played at a much higher level but for his commitments in and around the Reading area.

Clyde was also one of the club's first Junior coaches and managers, and had a significant influence on a number of players who went onto (and in some cases, still do) play for the 1st XI.

Above all, Clyde was a gentleman, a charming man, and a wonderful character who left an indelible mark on our club which we are truly grateful for.
